Series Objectives:
This training will take the participant through the pathway of the prescription.  First, a physician will review best practices of implementation of the PDMP in practice and outline signs of drug-seeking behavior.  Next, an inspector from the Bureau of Drug Control will discuss local cases of diversion, and a law enforcement officer will discuss what happens once a prescription hits the streets.  Then, a treatment director for The Phoenix Center will provide an overview of success stories, as well as barriers/challenges of opioid treatment.  Lastly, the Coroner’s Office will provide an overview of cases seen in our county.  The forum will conclude with a panel of experts answering questions from the audience; including all speakers, and the 13th Solicitor’s Office will also be on stage.

Physicians prescribing controlled substances, Nurses who provide direct patient care, Pharmacists who fill controlled substance prescriptions, Human Resources staff, School counselors, Social Workers, Mental Health Counselors
