•    To review definition and etiology of IBD
•    To define VEO-IBD and the distinct clinical characteristics that differ from older onset IBD
•    To review underlying causes of these differences: –   genetic and immunologic contribution of disease
•    To discuss the collaborative approach in the evaluation and development of therapeutic strategies
