1. Define periodic fevers and differentiate between hereditary and nonhereditary types of periodic fever syndromes. 
2. Understand clinical features of periodic fever syndromes compared to other causes of fever.
3. Create strategies for work up of periodic fevers. 
4. Compare treatments for periodic fever syndromes and discuss how and why they work.
