Topic: Mental Health Crises and Aggression

Objectives:

1) Review a case of a patient with altered mental status with episodes of dysregulated and dangerous behaviors
2) Discuss the different types of restraints used in the children's hospital
3) Learn the CMS regulations related to the use of restraint in the hospital
4) Review how to order and manage restraints in the hospital setting
5) Understand strategies for using chemical restraints in the pediatric population
