Objective(s):

•    Define trauma, medical trauma and other pertinent terms including traumatic stress, acute stress, and PTSD
•    Discuss the impact of medical traumatic stress in the pediatric population including risk factors, protective factors, and prevalence.
•    Review the current literature and data surrounding pediatric medical traumatic stress in certain populations.
•    Provide an introduction to trauma informed care and strategies for understanding and helping providers, patients, and families with pediatric medical traumatic stress
