Overview

The Cardiology Symposium is designed to connect primary care providers with cardiologists and bridge the gap for patient care.  Each year the topics are based on primary care provider request, and this year topics will include Aggressive Heart Failure Management, Palliative Care and Heart Failure, Pulmonary embolism, Device therapy, Management of Lipids, Peripheral Arterial disease management, Advances in Electrophysiology, Atrial Fibrillation management, and management of Syncope. This one-day symposium is for any primary care provider seeking to increase their knowledge of cardiovascular disease from the cardiologists’ perspective.

The purpose of this educational activity is to update the primary care community on the latest advances in cardiovascular care and how these advances apply to ongoing patient care. Through a combination of lectures, panel discussions, case broadcast, and case reviews participants will be better equipped to evaluate patients with cardiac disease and assess treatment options. Lecture sessions are enhanced by panel Q&A. Additionally, scheduled break-out sessions provide an opportunity for specific case Q&A with a dedicated field expert. Faculty include Prisma Health physician leaders in the fields of cardiology, cardiology intervention, electrophysiology, and lifestyle medicine.
