Topic: Congenital Heart Disease and Gestational Hypertension in Pregnancy
Objectives:
- Learners will be able to define, diagnose, and differentiate hypertensive disorders of pregnancy
- Learners will understand the use of the Bishop score and review indications/contraindications regarding various interventions for the induction of labor
- Learners will understand normal changes in cardiac physiology during pregnancy and how this relates to increased cardiac risk during labor and delivery
- Learners will be reminded of the importance of documentation, care coordination with specialists, and assurance of follow-up care
