Topic: The Difficult Airway: Adult & Pediatric

Objectives: 

By the end of this session, learners will be able to:

  1. Apply predictors of difficult airways to assessments of undifferentiated adult & pediatric patients
  2. List the materials (including pharmacology) necessary to intubate patients successfully fiberoptically
  3. Describe the indications for fiberoptic intubation
  4. Demonstrate a fiberoptic intubation
  5. Demonstrate a cricothyrotomy
  6. Contrast pediatric and adult approaches to difficult airways
  7. Value the systematic approach to undertaking airway management
