Content: Point of care ultrasound: The limited transvaginal/endocavitary exam
Objective(s):
1. Identify which patients may benefit from a limited transvaginal POCUS exam in the Emergency Department. 2. Understand the limitations of transvaginal/endocavitary POCUS exams and understand when comprehensive follow up imaging is necessary for a pathological condition. 3. Practice basic image acquisition using the endocavitary probe on standardized patients. 4. Appreciate the advantages of POCUS and how it can dramatically impact care particularly in the community ED setting for the emergency evaluation of possible DVT. 5. Understand the unique infection control protocol associated with the use of the transvaginal/endocavitary probe
