Topic: Inside the Wall: The Evolving World of Third Space Endoscopy

Learning Objectives: 

1. Explain the role of third-space endoscopy in gastrointestinal disease management, including conditions such as achalasia, spastic esophageal disorders, and early GI neoplasia, so that internists can understand when to consider these procedures in patient care.

2. Identify key clinical presentations and diagnostic findings that should prompt referral for third-space endoscopic evaluation, including manometry, EndoFLIP, and endoscopic/imaging features.

3. Recognize potential complications and post-procedural considerations relevant to primary care and inpatient follow-up, including GERD after POEM, bleeding or perforation, to facilitate coordinated care with gastroenterology.
