14th Annual Prisma Health Stroke Symposium

Columbia, SC US
October 26, 2024

Overview

Please join us for the 14th Annual Stroke Symposium presented by Prisma Health!

This activity seeks to continue bridging the gap between the current practices through which stroke cases are handled and the new, more effective recommendations throughout all stages of stroke care, from prevention to acute treatment. This will be accomplished through didactic presentations with question/answer opportunities from experts in the field both locally and nationally.

This event will be held live and is designed to cover topics that are addressed in the Joint Commission Disease-Specific Care requirements for stroke center certification and to follow the published guidelines primarily from the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association for acute ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, and subarachnoid hemorrhage. Additionally, this event is designed to help support our stroke survivor community by raising funds to support community events for stroke survivors and caregivers. The event will also highlight the impact of stroke services on stroke survivors.

This educational activity aims to meet the educational needs of providers and other clinical staff offering cerebrovascular and stroke care in the region.

Speakers include Prisma Health physician leaders in the fields of emergency medicine, neuroendovascular surgery, vascular neurology, neurocritical care, and rehabilitation. Nationally renowned leaders in cerebrovascular and stroke care will highlight hyperacute stroke care and neuromodulation for stroke recovery.
