Topic: Obstetric Anal Sphincter Injury: Vaginal Birth After Cesarean Versus First Vaginal Delivery
Objectives:
- Compare the incidence of obstetric anal sphincter injury (OASIS) in patients undergoing vaginal birth after cesarean (VBAC) versus those having a first vaginal delivery.
- Identify patient-specific and intrapartum risk factors associated with OASIS in both VBAC and nulliparous populations.
- Evaluate whether prior cesarean delivery independently modifies the risk of severe perineal lacerations.
