Topic: An educational workshop that will introduce and expand the knowledge base of Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) for all providers within the Prisma Health system. There will also be an opportunity for hands-on learning experiences that will help providers practice their skills in real time so they can feel competent and comfortable implementing OMT practices in the clinical learning environment. This workshop will address various treatments applicable to all skill levels from introductory learning to skilled practitioner through the utilization of small breakout groups.
Objectives:
- The learner will be able to cite the foundational concepts of OMM.
- The learner will be able to quickly screen and identify patients who are likely to benefit from OMM.
- The learner will be able to quickly screen and identify patients who are unlikely to benefit from OMM.
- The learner will develop verbiage to help manage patient’s expectations and goals of treatment when using OMM.
- The learner will be able to develop and perform skill level appropriate OMM treatment plans for some common conditions.
