This training will take the participant through the pathway of the prescription. First, a physician will review best practices of implementation of the PDMP in practice and outline signs of drug-seeking behavior. Next, an inspector from the Bureau of Drug Control will discuss local cases of diversion, and a law enforcement officer will discuss what happens once a prescription hits the streets. Then, a treatment director for The Phoenix Center will provide an overview of success stories, as well as barriers/challenges of opioid treatment. Lastly, the Coroner’s Office will provide an overview of cases seen in our county. The forum will conclude with a panel of experts answering questions from the audience; including all speakers, and the 13th Solicitor’s Office will also be on stage.
