Series Objectives:
Case based presentation and discussion of patients who have died or suffered serious morbidity typically as a result of a preventable error or public health issue. Didactic presentation from a content expert on the disease processes or safety issues that are pertinent to the case. Discussion of public health aspects of the cases of cases discussed. All members of the Prisma Health Department of Pediatrics are invited to attend as are the pediatric and family medicine residents rotating on the service. Pediatric emergency medicine providers often attend the conference. The goals of the conference are to learn from the case and make systems improvements to improve care for patients in the future.
