- Peer review of surgical complications and deaths for the specific purpose of identifying areas where care can be improved.

- Reviewing complex reconstructive cases for the purpose of developing a care plan.

- In review of specific cases, this conference is important for identifying system issues (e.g. outdated policies, changes in patient identification procedures, arithmetic errors, etc.) that affect patient care.
