- Understand the clinical ramifications of the Fourier and Odyssey Trial results; and recognize the patients who would benefit from the use of PCSK9 inhibitors.
- Describe how you should, or should not, incorporate the new heart failure therapies into your clinical practice.
- Demonstrate understanding of situations commonly encountered in primary care when “bridging” of anticoagulant or anti-platelet therapy may be considered and/or indicated.
- Identify cardiovascular benefits and risk of older diabetic drugs; and describe cardiovascular effects of new diabetic drugs.
- Describe evidence-based research on prevention and reversal of heart disease with a plant-based diet. Translate medical research into practical guidelines.
