2025 The Desmond P. Kelly Nurturing Developing Minds Conference and the IACH Community Health Forum

Greenville, SC US
February 27, 2025 to February 28, 2025

Overview

The Desmond P. Kelly Nurturing Developing Minds Conference and the IACH Community Health Forum and combines two annual events serving the Upstate medical and community health communities. The Institute for Child Success (ICS) annually organizes the NDM Conference, co-hosted with SC LEND; Institute for the Advancement of Community Health (IACH) at Furman University (a primary academic partner of Prisma Health) organizes the Community Health Forum. The event will be presented as a two-day professional development event with the shared theme of “Building Brighter Tomorrows through Community Health Innovations.” Sessions cover a range of topics, including inequity in pediatrics, defining public health, pediatric clinical care, neurodivergence, the physical environment of pediatric healthcare facilities, child development, maternal care, and more. The conference focuses on topics related to physical and social environmental factors that affect child behavior and development. This conference aims to empower pediatric clinicians, early childhood professionals, and early interventionists to appropriately conduct interviews/interventions in patients where negative impacts outweigh positive impacts. It takes a systems-level focus to the interconnected drivers of health and wellness while also providing tangible lessons to incorporate into practice.
