USCSOM-GHM Active Shooter Medical Surge Full Scale Exercise

Overview
The University of South Carolina School of Medicine - Greenville will be conduscting a Full-Scale Exercise in partnership with the GMH Emergency Department and external agencies. An FSE is as close to a real event as possible, and is useful to test total coordination among all participating entities. This exercise will be a response to an "Active Shooter" situation inside the USCSOM creating a surge of patients to the GMH Emergency Department. These patients will need to be appropriately triaged and patient care managed throughout the event.

Learning Objectives
This training addresses performance and patient and patient outcomes directly through the scenario based training. Learners will be taught:
- Understanding of general emergency proceudres,
- How to discuss and practice care coordination among providers and departments and,
- How to stabilize patients and initiate care.
