ECG Lecture Series
The primary goal of this lecture series is focused on training the emergency clinician. However, it has applicability to learners outside the emergency department, including but not limited to those practicing internal medicine, urgent care, family medicine, cardiology, and critical care.
Target Audience
• Attending Physicians – Clinically relevant advanced ECG interpretation for the practicing emergency medicine clinician
• Resident Physicians – This will provide the EM resident learner with a reinforcement of the foundations of their knowledge and then seeks to build on this with advanced ECG interpretation to prepare the resident for practice as an independent clinician in the Emergency Department.
• Medical Students – The early lectures will introduce ECG interpretation, focusing on the fundamentals of the ECG tracing, an algorithm for interpretation and an introduction to core emergency conditions to recognize.
• Advanced Practice Clinicians – There is great variation in ECG instruction in NP and PA programs. This lecture series is intended to provide a full curriculum of ECG interpretation for the APP intending to practice in the emergency department.

• Synthesize a differential diagnosis for ECG findings
• Levels of learning can be established for early learners developing proficiency in common conditions and advanced learners developing proficiency in uncommon conditions
• Application of the ECG interpretation into the appropriate clinical context
