Objectives

  • Recognize that drowning is a significant cause of childhood morbidity and mortality in the US and in South Carolina
  • Review the variety of outcomes after drowning
  • Understand the acute management of pediatric drowning
  • Learn the advocacy and preventative management of drowning from the outpatient setting
