Forward16th Annual Prisma Health Stroke Symposium-2026
The Stroke Symposium was started to meet the educational needs of providers and other clinical staff offering cerebrovascular and stroke care in the region. This event will be held live and is designed to cover topics that are addressed in the Joint Commission Disease Specific Care requirements for stroke center certification and to follow the published guidelines primarily from the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association for acute ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, and subarachnoid hemorrhage. Additionally, this event is designed to help support our stroke survivor community by raising funds to support community events for stroke survivors and caregivers. The event will also highlight the impact of stroke services on stroke survivors.

As a result of participating in this educational activity, learners will...
- Have information and guidelines surrounding current available and best treatment practices, including those that go above and beyond the guideline standards for stroke patient care.
- Know HOW to implement the guidelines and WHEN. Current best available treatment practices (that go above and beyond guideline standards) should be used when assessing appropriate care for patients in a practice, hospital, or pre-hospital setting.
- Be able to modify and amend their current methods/practices/processes of assessing stroke cases by implementing strategies for the treatment and care of stroke patients.
