Overview
Our visiting professor lecture series is designed to promote education and exposure for our residents and staff to nationally known experts in their subspecialties. It will honor Dr. Edward W. Bray III who has been a career educator for residents and physicians.

- Highlighting the specific metrics and outcomes we can hopefully improve upon with orthopaedic-specific anesthesia care in our operating rooms.

Justin E. Richards, MD
Dr Justin Richards completed his undergraduate degree at Lenoir-Rhyne College in Hickory, NC and received his medical degree from Temple University. He completed an anesthesiology residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center followed by a critical care fellowship at the University of Maryland. Dr Richards is an associate professor of anesthesiology and critical care medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. He is a member of the Western Trauma Association, the Trauma Anesthesiology Society, and the International Anesthesia Research Society. His clinical and research interests include whole blood resuscitation in hemorrhagic shock, early identification of traumatic coagulopathy, and multiple organ failure in severely injured trauma patients.
