Pediatric Readiness Practice Evolution Project in Community Emergency Departments with focus on Pediatric Head CT Scan Utilization

An articulate module addressing the updated PECARN pediatric head CT guidelines through case studies and introduction of the educational content.

Learning Objectives

This activity will increase learner knowledge by educating providers on the PECARN criteria and its appropriate utilization. 

This activity will increase learner competence by introducing indications for not performing a head CT in a child with minor pediatric head trauma.

This activity will increase performance need by identifying how to decrease inappropriate CT utilization in the pediatric population, thereby decreasing pediatric radiation exposure.
