Southeast Hub: Faculty Development Course on Competency-Based Medical Education

Greenville, SC US
August 15, 2024 to August 17, 2024

This 2.5-day course is organized by the ACGME Southeast Hub, a consortium of several academic institutions in the Carolinas and Northeast Georgia, and is designed to provide faculty development in assessment and feedback as it relates to the ACGME's goal of working toward Competency Based Medical Education (CBME) versus time-based graduate medical education. Attendees will have a full day of didactic theory bursts interspersed with small breakout group activities before practicing direct observation skills and giving feedback at the USCSOM-G SIM Center. The remainder of the course will focus on resident coaching and remediation, creating individualized learning plans (ILPs) and creating an action plan for program self-assessment that attendees can bring back to their programs. This activity is intended for residency program directors and faculty.
