Module 6: Stimulants

The following components are included in each module:

  1. A pretest to assess student knowledge/learning and prepare students for certification type questions on the topic.
  2. National experts present the educational content including information about screening for the substance, treatment considerations and clinical implications.
  3. A video(s) of persons with lived experiences present their stories about the use of the substance.
  4. A posttest to assess student knowledge/learning.

Learning Objectives

  1. Review pharmacology of stimulants and mechanisms of stimulant disorder
  2. Review the different types of stimulants: cocaine, methamphetamine, MDMA, other stimulants
  3. Discuss therapeutic use of stimulants
  4. Discuss treatment of stimulant use disorder
